Phnix – The Rebirth Story
Music has been part of Phnix’s life since the 6th grade — from early band rooms and bedroom experiments to late nights chasing the perfect sound. While his path through music has taken many forms, it wasn’t until later in life that he found his true voice behind the decks.
Breaking into the Detroit bass scene, Phnix got his first real opportunity at Bass Down Low at The Works, booked by local legend Calico. That show set the stage for a string of performances across the city, including several DRS events back in their early days — and more recently, one of DRS’s highly anticipated comeback shows.
Drawing deep inspiration from Ganja White Night, Zeds Dead, and CharlestheFirst, Phnix built his sound around sample-driven storytelling and emotional textures — all performed live through Ableton Live, a tool that’s become an extension of his creativity. His performances balance heavy low-end energy with melodic introspection, blending sound design and feeling into something raw and alive.
His upcoming EP, The Rebirth Code, marks a turning point — both as an artist and as a person. It’s a reflection of growth, recovery, and the strength that came through getting sober. Every track carries a piece of that journey: pain, healing, and ultimately, rebirth.
Over the years, Phnix has earned his place as direct support for some of bass music’s biggest names — from Caspa on the “500 Tour” to Rekoil, TrollPhace, and Mantis. Each milestone has pushed his sound further, transforming his experiences into music that resonates far beyond the stage.
Now, with The Rebirth Code, Phnix is ready to share the next chapter — one built on gratitude, evolution, and fire from the ashes.
